How do I receive payments?

  • If you are based in the US, we payout directly to your US bank account via ACH.  If you are based outside of the US, you can withdraw funds to your local bank account or to a Mastercard prepaid debit card.  We have partnered with 3rd party providers to make payouts simple and easy.

I live outside of the United States and I don’t have a US bank account.  How can I receive payment?

  • Tophatter has partnered with Payoneer to allow sellers outside of the United States to withdraw funds to your local bank account or to a prepaid Mastercard debit card.  Payoneer enables global businesses to pay sellers by facilitating seamless, cross-border payments in more than 200 countries and 100 currencies.

How seller fees work:

  • When a buyer pays you, Tophatter automatically deducts seller fees from the payment before it is paid to you, so you don’t need to pay those fees later.  To view the fees for an item, go to the Manage page under Orders and click the View Fees option on the menu next it.  Fees that cannot be deducted will be deducted from the next payout.

Payment will be disbursed after delivery of the item has been confirmed. By paying upon delivery, Tophatter can provide excellent buyer protection.

  • Sellers are paid every 60 days. Payouts will occur on the payout day (the 1st and 16th of each month) 60 days after their previous payout.
    • If there is no previous payout and you are a new seller, the first payout will occur on the first payout date after 60 days from the day the selling account was created.
    • More frequent, twice monthly payments may be available to sellers who maintain a healthy account status over time and are able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering quality buyer experiences. Maintaining a low incident rate will help the status of your account. Eligibility will be determined by Tophatter and the seller’s account/Payouts page updated if necessary.
  • Sellers who have received their last payout 60 days ago will be included in the next batch of payouts. Payouts are batched and processed twice monthly on the 1st and 16th. If either of these days falls on a weekend or holiday the payout will fall on the next following business day.
  • In general, payments will be made to sellers only after delivery of the item has been confirmed through the tracking information.
  • Payment status can be tracked under Payouts in your account.
  • There is a $5.00 payout minimum. You will receive a payout as soon as your net payout amount exceeds $5.00.
  • If orders are marked as shipped, but do not show acceptance by a carrier, they will be refunded 15 days after they are marked as shipped. If delivery of an order cannot be verified (and has been accepted by a supported carrier), the payment will be held for a minimum of 30 days from the date of shipment before it is paid out.

Please note that if seller metrics fall to unhealthy levels, payouts can be held until the account recovers. You will be notified on Payouts page if your payouts are being held. Once your payouts are released, it can take another 60 days for a payout to be initiated.

Funds in closed accounts will he held for a minimum of 90 days and/or until all orders have been delivered. Tophatter reserves the right to extend this time period as deemed necessary.
