Introducing Bonus Credits

Peak season is kicking off and Tophatter wants to help you optimize your sales. That’s why we rolled out Bonus Credits. This feature allows you to incentivize shoppers, boosting your final auction sale price.

Bonus Credits allow sellers to offer a credit to the winner of the auction. Sellers can offer the winner up to 2% of the final auction price back in Tophatter credits. By incentivizing shoppers during the auction, you can drive higher sales prices and improve sell rate!

Why should you use them?

Our data shows, shoppers bid more when incentivized by cash back. Auctions that offer credits have a 9% better sell rate than those that don’t. These auctions are brightly marked in the feed to drive additional competition to your products.

From your Campaigns page, select the Bonus Credits feature and test it out on some upcoming auctions. Bonus Credits are charged as fees and are visible on the Selling page of your dashboard to easily track performance.

Update to Payout Cycles: New 30-Day Payout Available

On September 5, we are launching new payout cycles that will be determined by Incident Rate and a minimum amount of net sales. In addition to the existing 15 and 60 day payout cycles, we are introducing a new 30 day (1x Monthly) cycle to give more sellers providing a good customer experience a faster payout timeline.

Announcing the first-ever Tophatter Day!

We are launching a week-long sales event to encourage more volume and higher ASPs through increased competition. From June 8-14, Shoppers will be incentivized to buy more products during “Rewards Week,” as all purchases made during this week will unlock discounts that can be used on June 15, Tophatter Day. The more Shoppers buy, the more discounts they earn. 

What does this mean for Sellers? 

Tophatter will be giving the discounts. Your margins and final sales prices will not be affected. We are focused on driving more volume & higher ASPs for you, our Sellers. 

How do you prepare? 

  • Now until June 8: Test new products in Reminder Campaigns to assess their conversion and generate demand. This will help you find new “winning” products on Tophatter. And Shoppers who set Reminders from these Campaigns will receive an alert when they go up for auction. 
  • June 8-14: Move products that converted well in your Reminder Campaigns to Auction Campaigns for Volume. Ensure you set aggressive Scheduling Fee Bids, so you benefit from the increase in purchases across the platform.
  • June 15-16: Tophatter Day will last for a full day in all time zones, to include our global Shopper-base, so ensure your Scheduling Fee Bids and Campaigns budgets are high during these two days.

Introducing Reminder Campaigns: Generate Demand & Gather More Data on New Products

Reminder Campaigns are a new tool built to help generate demand and collect data on Shopper behavior. Products in Reminder Campaigns do not go up for auction; instead they are displayed more like an ad within the feed. The product listing garners impressions data and the customer can set a Reminder, if they are interested in the product. A Reminder will send a push notification to the Shopper when the product goes up for auction.
